A Mitch in time...

Well, that nice Mitch Benn was kind enough to play my "Text Song" on his BBC7 show, the slightly prosaically (or possibly post-post-modernly) titled "Mitch Benn Music Show".

The show aired at 08h30 on Wed 25th, so I was able to listen in whilst eating porridge in my pants (I should really start using a bowl, ho ho).

Mitch was very complimentary about me, and flattered to read on my website that my Dad had described my act as "a bit like Mitch Benn, but not as good" (a paraphrase of something my poor Dad once said which came out wrong, much to his chagrin, and my amusement).

The ultimate compliment, though, was that I feature on Mitch's iTunes "funny stuff" playlist, between Peter Cook and Peter Sellers (which, although a purely alphabetical ranking, is still the highest 21st century accolade).

If you're reading this before Tuesday 31st October 2006, you can hear the show at BBC7's "listen again" page:

If not, try my MySpace page:

Cheers Mitch, and hope to meet you one day!

Big Jim's Trims

On Ealing High Street, there's a hairdressers called "Big Jim's Trims", presumably named after the proprietor, Big Jim.

I'm glad he's not running a brothel.
